Meet Katie Burden
Registered Clinical Counselor
Hello and welcome! My name is Katie (she/her), and I am a Registered Clinical Counselor with a master’s degree in counseling psychology and art therapy from Adler University.
I use art therapy as a way to explore the quieter, less obvious parts of yourself—the parts that might not know how to speak but still want to be seen. You don’t need to be “artistic” at all; we use simple materials to make what’s inside visible, so it can start to move and shift. I also draw from emotion focused therapy, EMDR and mindfulness.
In our work together, we’ll slow down and listen differently. Through art, movement, and mindful awareness, you’ll learn to tune into your body and emotions—not just to think about your experience, but to feel it. You don’t have to know where to start; I’ll guide you gently as we follow your own inner rhythm toward healing, clarity, and self-connection.
Dear Client, I See You
You’ve talked about your feelings a lot, but it still feels like something’s missing. You want to feel alive, not just functional. You’re tired of trying to figure yourself out and just want to feel real again—to loosen the grip of that voice that says you’re not enough and find the parts of you that still sparkle. Therapy with me is about coming home to yourself—through art, movement, and gentle curiosity. That’s the space we make together.
Through art, mindfulness, and EMDR, I help you connect with what’s under the surface. We’ll track emotions in the moment, giving space for what’s been stuck to move and heal. You don’t need to have the right words—just a willingness to get curious and start feeling again.
Let's be real- being human is messy— It can be lonely, confusing, and full of stumbles. Life asks us to be brave and hopeful, even when stuck. It also asks for self-kindness, which can be the hardest part. As a therapist, I’ll walk beside you with warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for the experiences that shaped you.
